2nd Intergenic partner meeting. A hidden present!
The post is about the recent partner meeting of the Intergenic project, held in Athens, where partners discussed work packages focusing on training modules for youth and elder mentors, particularly in digital skills and eco-practices. The meeting also included discussions on intergenerational action, with a focus on design thinking methods. The partners emphasized the importance of face-to-face collaboration, despite frequent online meetings. Future piloting of the project modules and visibility efforts are set for December and January. The post highlights the project’s relevance and the creative teamwork to foster intergenerational connections.

Erasmus+ projects tend to minimize real life partners meetings. The Intergenic project is no different: a first partner meeting in January 24 in Cyprus, a second half way in November 24 in Athens and the last one in September 24 a meeting in Spain. Although online partner meetings every month and e-mail provide follow-up on the activities of each work package, the Erasmus+ magic happens when partners meet in real life. The Hera Hotel was the venue, chosen by the Greek Intergenic partner Dyeko. The goddess blessed us with a fertile 2 day meeting.
Intergenic work packages 2 and 3 focus on the creation of training modules for respectively youth and elder mentors. The first on digital skills and the latter on eco practices. Together they form wat EU calls a twin transition. Under the wake of the horrible events in Valencia just a few days before the partner meeting, all project partners felt the relevance of the project. Modules are made in co-creation with the future mentors and the translated document are ready to be checked and adapted to their needs by the end of November. You will find the modules in the beginning of December on www.intergenic.eu. December and January will bring the piloting of the modules in all partner countries. No small deal, but…
Work package 4 was also on the agenda. A work package devoted to intergenerational action. A project of its own or a project within the intergenic project. A walk to the foot of the Acropolis where Athena has been worshipped preceded the session dedicated to intergenerational action. Athena born out of the head of Zeus was resembled by the colleagues of University of Limasol explaining a design thinking approach to foster generational action. All project partners teamed up to further that approach. A nice challenge for the Intergenic partnership that will be tackled next year. The second day of the partnermeeting was mainly devoted to communication and valorisation. With upcoming piloting events and the start of intergenerational action work package, coming months will bring visibility to what intergenic is about. Within the partner consortium ideas start to grow on new and innovative approaches based on the current InterGenic project. To which Greek God this will bring us…time will tell.
